Thank you for this article. You also didn't mention that on the show And Just like That they discussed the character of Miranda letting her hair go gray and not returning to the red she was so well known for.
I got my first gray hairs when I was in my twenties probably due to being in a relationship with an abusive ex-husband or who knows maybe it was genetic. In any case, of course I ran to the store to color it and was coloring it up until last year when I decided to cut my long hair and cut the color out with it. My friend who works in a hair salon told me young girls are actually paying to have gray hair and its the biggest trend now and I have it for free. Once I got my hair chopped (and I'm almost 52 by the way) I felt liberated for about a month. But after a while every time I looked in the mirror. I felt too old and started coloring it again but now I'm using a color that blends well with the grays but my hair grows so fast and I'm thinking of stopping and letting it go silver again. Perhaps I have earned my silver hair. Perhaps at this point in life if men don't look at me the same way as when I was in my twenties and thirties I deserve a man who will appreciate my silver hair and see me not just my hair.
